Don't Miss Today's WebEd: An Overview of the Latest Economic, Legislative & Regulatory COVID-19 Related Impacts on Construction

AGC CEO Stephen Sandherr and Vice President of Government Affairs Jimmy Christianson will provide an analysis of the recently passed coronavirus relief legislation and what it means for construction firms. In particular, they will address how firms can take advantage of the tax credits and lending programs outlined in the legislation. They will also cover the new paid sick and family & medical leave mandates and how those apply to construction firms. In addition, AGC Chief Economist Ken Simonson will provide his latest analysis of economic conditions and the impacts of the pandemic on the industry.

Governor Signs "Stay at Home" Order: What This Means For Construction

Yesterday, (March 26th), Governor Brad Little held a press conference during which he announced a 21-day "stay home" order.  Several hours later, the Governor's office issued the details of the 21-day stay home order, including the list of those industries that fall under the “Essential Services” category.

IBR's Idaho Top Projects Awards: Be Recognized for Your Work

Each September, the Idaho Business Review honors the top construction projects completed in Idaho. During a special awards event, they tell the stories and show the impact of top projects from around the state, with a focus on impact.

Projects chosen as finalists will appear in a special magazine featuring detailed information about the projects. Winners are chosen by an expert panel of local judges based on the following criteria:

Project delays hit 28% of respondents in AGC survey; pre-pandemic reports are mixed

A growing number of contractors have reported impacts on building projects and products from the coronavirus outbreak. An online survey AGC conducted March 17-19 drew 909 respondents, of whom 28% answered “yes” to the question: “Has any owner, government agency or official directed you to halt or delay work on any projects that are either active or expected to start within the next 30 days?” In addition, 11% replied “yes” regarding projects they were expecting to start more than 30 days from now.
